Starter going & Radio going....related?
Hi all,
I've got a 97 Accord LX 4 banger with just over 100k on it.....it's my first honda and love it thus far. My question is this...
About a week ago, the stock CD/Radio started to intermittently go out. It would only do this after the car has been sitting off for a while. It would cut out with no sound on both radio and CD, but after a few minutes would come back and be fine.
Then....a couple of days ago, I go to start her up, turn the key, and get nothing but a single click. After a few times turning the key, it starts and runs fine. It is now doing this every day after the car has been sitting off for a while. I know...sounds like my starter is going bad right? But do you think the radio/CD issue is related, and why?
thanks in advance for any help.

It could be that you're having alternator problems...If it isin't working properly, it won't charge the battery and won't provide constant voltage to the car's electrical system (that would cause your radio to go out). Alternator problems in Hondas with only 100,000 miles don't happen too often. The clicking you hear is just the starter Solenoid. It could be the starter, but to rule everything else out do a voltage test on the battery (12.5) and else ware.
