Default Seatbelt swap?

I have a 90 Accord LX with 247k. Still runs like a swiss clock with very little work having been done in the 2 years I've owned it. Problem is my automatic seatbelts aren't working properly. They randomly choose when to operate, more often electing not to. I am aware of the lifetime warranty offered by Honda. I am also aware that my dealers service manager looked at it for me and claimed that it appears the previous owner modified the wiring and Honda won't fix it. Now the question becomes, if I remove the trim and unbolt the shoulder harness track can I bolt in a seatbelt from a 92-93. I haven't been able to get a straight answer from anyone other than the Honda tech. He says no but somehow I doubt Honda modified the body structure that much between the 90-91 and the 92-93 that are the same body style. Any knowledge or advice would be appreciated.
