Handling mods to 6th Gen coupe
Hi,
Just got an 01 coupe V6 for my daily. However, the handling is so bad compared to my current cars. It's so soft and floaty. What else can I do to make it better since I haven't been in the accord scene for long?
These are all I could think off:
1. 04 TL Comptech Rear Sway bar
2. Full coilover setup 10K Font, 8K Rear
3. Ingalls F & R Camber kit.
I may roll on stock 16s through the winter and slap on some 18s in the summer.
What other things to add to? Would a Comptech front Upper strut really help? Since it's my daily, I don't want to drop a lot of money into it.

get an upper front strut baw
and lower rear strut tie bar
if you want balanced suspension get front and rear sway bars
if you want more oversteer than understeer stick with just the TL sway bar
get 215 or 225 tires
get at the most 17 inch rims
any bigger and you'll die.

you can pickup the TL front strut tower for cheap money as well as the rear sway bar. you can get the 6th gen accord to handle well with all the stuff fallen stated on top of a good spring/shock combo. I have a ton of fun ripping around corners with my sedan.

You're worried about handling... and you want 18's? Sorry; I don't mean to sound like an ass... but the shorter the tire, the less your suspension mods are able to actually feel the ground.

because all of the mods will be useless if you cant put them to use.

ii had hella suspension mods to my car but my rear end would keep sliding out because i didnt know anything about tire pressure, suspension settings and learning how to dive into corners.

The only reason 18" would set that back is if they're heavy (more rotational mass) and really thin sidewalls. Too thick of a tire isn't good, same goes for too thin as well. You just need to balance it out.
For this accord, 17" is ideal, but 18" isn't that terrible either given the corrected sizes for OEM is ranged 215-45 to 225-45 (lil over sized). That'd give you enough meat to have decent feedback to the suspension without ripping that rubber pieces off the wheels.
This car is for my daily, so I don't ask for a completely auto-X setup. I have better cars for that.

Wheels, tires setups, etc. I'm well aware off. I've track other cars enough to know decent things about it. Again, this is more about daily handling and not time attack nor Auto-X.

About rim sizes, 215/225-45-18 with lightweight 18s would be decent (given I get the right offsets for 225).
Again, I'm not asking to mod it for track, auto-X or anything, just to handle better compare to what it is now.

Car is stock right now, hence the poor handling.
I've already ordered the custom AMR Coilover setup with 10/8K specs. I'm going to order the TL Comptech Rear Sway bar as well as the Ingalls Camber kit.
I'm sure by adding those, it'll improve the handling 10x better.
Just want to ask is there anything else beside those that I may forgot.

i have a 6thgen accord
i have upper strut and lower rear tie bar.
trust me, it's noticable when you dive into a corner at 50-60 MPH...without it, i used to skid. almost got myself killed being a dumbass.
i don't condone turning at excess of 40MPH but you get my point.
