right now,

1./ poorman CAI

2/. Muffler + 2.5" piping rear end,

3/. Catalytic replacement. Take out the Catalytic, cut a 2.5"-3" Pipe about the same length, find and cut the 2 Adapters look like the front + end of the cat. conv. and welded in with that Pipe, the made adjustment neccessary, then bolt it back inplace of the Cat. Conv.. Keep ya Cat. for Yearly Emission inspec in future.

4/. If I'm right, which likely not. the Cat. conv. of the 03 would be the same as the 98-02, find a used one in the Junkyard, poke a large hole through out it and remove the "stuff" inside the cat. conv. there u go, a plug and play cat flow. This is what i did for my 94 HA, all free.

except for the poor mans mods you should just wait a few months and then see what the industry has to offer.

Has anyone removed the resonator, installed a K&N filter in the stock airbox, and left the exhaust system stock?

Just leave your car stock for now. Enjoy it. If you start modding it right away, you'll do so much that you'll get bored with your car. I modded my 6th gen and I almost want to go back to stock and I have no clue why. My car looks nice as hell with the mods I have but I will not do any engine mods. I like the engine the way it is and feel that I can spend my money on better things. I'm not dissing anyone who enjoys this, its just not my type of thing. I 'm more of a looks kinda guy then a under the hood. I dont race around or go to a track and race therefore its not important to me. K&N Filter and i'm happy :-) Anyways, just keep your 2003 new and take care of it. Worry about the mods a few years from now. You said it was a family car so use it with the family and enjoy it!
