I have a 98 Accord 4 door. Sometimes the lock/unlock doesn't work from the keyless remote. It always works using the key. I changed the remote's battery, but that didn't do anything.

The weird thing is that when the keyless door unlock doesn't work, if I try to unlock the trunk first, and then try to unlock the door, it works fine!

What controls the keyless lock/unlock? And what does the trunk have to do with it?
