I am having a problem with my headlights dimming while I am driving. They only dim when the car is accelerating and the lights go back to normal when I let off of the gas. I replaced the battery a few weeks ago and thought that this would cure the problem. It did not. I suspect it may be the alternator, but my interior lights are not dimming at all while I am driving. Fan belt? Any ideas or similiar experiences. Thanks.

P.S. I have an 04 LX w/ V-6 in it.

 

Check all of your wiring from the bulbs back.

 

are these OEM headlights?
Have you cut anything on the wire harness?

 

I have not cut the wire harness, and yes they are OEM headlights.

 

It could be your alternator about to die out.
sounds like there isnt sufficient power output from the alt.

 

If your intirior lights arent dimming have you tried using different halogen bulbs on the headlights themselves?

when bulbs are the issue, they do 1 of 2 things:

1. not turn on
2. not turn on

I've never heard of a defective bulb increasing and decreasing with acceleration. The original poster is correct to assume something electrical.
