Default What does power steering pressure switch do?

I have a 1994 Accord LX, and replaced the ps system/ hoses. There is a sensor on the high pressure hose from pump to rack. What exactly does it do? How does it operate?

Thanks

It helps with keep the pressure the same while at idle. It will adjust the idle if the pressure drops. If it is broken or is disconnected you can have a rolling idle problem.
