pick-a-part in so cal..
Hi, i need a set of stock shocks and springs (both front and rear) for my 99 accord. no one seem to have these around their house that they are willing to part with, so i guess my next option is to go to a junk yard and pick them out myself.
im pretty sure i'll be able to find the car at a junk yard and all being that its so common and all. the thing is that i never been to a junk yard before...
can anyone recommend one in socal, preferrably in pomona/claremont area.
do i bring my own tools and pull the part myself?
how much do you think it will cost? (ball park, of course, for good condition parts)
got any advices you are willing to give to a junkyard newbie?

I've been to the pull-a-part in Birmingham, Al and yes you do have to bring your own tools and do all the removal yourself. It costs exactly one dollar just to get in to the junk yard but the parts themselves are uber cheap. They even give you the option of getting warranties for the parts for a little extra, just in case they don't work or don't fit or something. Go to www.pullapart.com to check for part pricing, availability of that specific car, (they can't tell you whether or not the part is there though) and different locations across the country.
Its not ALWAYS the most reliable method of "fixing up" your car, but if you know what you're doing it works and its cheap.
