HELP: cant rev past 3000 rpms

Default HELP: cant rev past 3000 rpms

all of a sudden i cant go past 3000 rpms in any gear. oil level is fine. what else should i look at? car is a 97 5 spd...thanks

there is no check engine light also..

Have you ever seen the CEL illuminate?? The bulb maybe be burnt out, go to AutoZone and see if a code will pull.

Default maybe timing

you might want to check your timing belt. I had the same problem with my 98 civic. it wouldnt go over 4000rpm. after i looked at my belt i realized that it had somehow jumped two teeth. so it was readjusted and a valve adjustment was done (becasue it was making a ticking sound for some time) and it has ran fine ever since. just a note from personal experience.

i solved my problem but it was not a sensor, it was the starter wtf????

i had starting troubles so i replaced the starter first and then problem was fixed....i dont kno how it is related but it got fixed!
