Default Anyone here hesitate to buy 03 Accord because of the TSX?

I am just wondering if anyone here is planning to buy a new Accord but still wants to wait for the new Acura TSX first?

I'm curious to see what the TSX will finally look like. I've seen spy pics and seen official pics of the Euro Accord. I like the Euro Accord. If the styling is the same, I'll consider it. But the V6 of the US Accord is tempting. I was hoping the TSX would be a 3 Series/Audi A4/Lexus IS fighter, but it's getting a 4 cyl and front wheel drive, both very dissapointing.

Probably it will carry a high-performance four cylinder engine though.

There's no replacement for displacement. A 6cyl. would provide usable torque. Not having to rev the crap out of car to get some passing power is a nice thing to have and rear wheel drive would provide a 50/50 weight balance.

Well a high performance four cylinder is a compromise for better handling. Although it doesn't provide as much low- and mid-range torque as most V6s do, it still could give a very sporty feeling because you can rev the engine to very high rpm, just that not so practical in normal driving. As far as straight line accleration or sudden acceleration, a V6 should be much better than a I4, but if you are talking about driving in curvy roads, I think a 160hp I4 Accord should be more ideal than the 240hp V6.

2004 Acura TSX

- A V6 won't fit in that engine bay
- RWD rarely provides 50/50 weight balance. It actually has less to do with RWD than engine placement and the chassis..
- The TSX will look extremely similiar to the European Accord, with some minor interior and exterior tweaks. Most likely they'll add some small changes to the headlamps/taillamps.
- The TSX will slot between the Accord and TL, competing with the Saab 9-3, Audi A4 base, and some domestics.
- In the CL Type-S 6spd, you would never be able to tell it was FWD. Without the extra girth, it'd probably handle just as good as the 330Ci. It's that good. So don't worry about the FWD thing too much. The TSX probably won't be equipped with an HLSD, but it won't be heavy enough to really require it.
- Powertrains? Check that thread.

Both the 7th gen accord and TSX are fwd. I think I'll still get the Accord because of that great V6, but the TSX will probably have features the Accod doesn't, like HIDs.

I already dream of seeing Accord and TSX parking side by side, North American Accord and European/Japanese Accord that is.
