Default maintenance required light flashing?

my gf has an '04 accord lx and recently she noticed the maintenance required light will flash for a few seconds after starting the car. i know it's normal for all of the different indicators to at least come on when starting the car up, but this one flashes for a few seconds after the other indicator lights have gone off. i'm no mechanic or car expert, so this may be nothing; but i just thought i'd ask if everyones accord does that.
thanks in advance for any help.

a few flashes, then turns off = its time for an oil change soon.

same could easily be said for you. if it's such a hassle answering questions like mine, don't even bother. no need to throw in any unnecessary comments.
