87 lx sputters when i shut off the key and isnt really running but isnt really dead for a while... what could cause this... timing? idk id appriciate any help i could get
Here are some possibilities for "dieseling": 1. Yes, the timing may be off; 2. the idle speed is set too high ? 3. the engine running temperature is too high? Good luck.
I would do a complete change of the spark plugs, plug wires, distributor cap, check the timing, and check the idle speed. I'm sure it could be a good running car.
