Default '98 Accord AC mode switch

My 98 Accord AC mode switch has just stopped working. It is a Canadian climate control. Everything works fine, but I can not switch from floor to panel...etc. It seems to be stuck in floor/panel mode. the mode is changing on the display? Is there a rely or actuator in duct work that may be bad?

The mode control is under the dash. Its a little motor with a rod probably a green connector. You can get to it moderately easy. Some times thy stick or go bad.Flick it.Now their are several little motors under the dash and thy all look the same so flick them all(the mode, recerk, and temp control)

Sorry i can not get any canadian info on that.So i can not help you diag if flicking them will not work.

Let me know what you come up with i can get a lot of us info. Some times wire colors do not match has been a problem for me in the past.Flick em first and see if the connector is good and tight.

Tapped on relay, no luck. Went to dealer, they said is was motor assembly, that changed vent direction... Is that the relay I was tapping on (green plug, with rods) looks like it is all one... dealer price 175.00!

No i had you tap on the motor.Look a picks. If you want to save some money you will have to spend some uncomfortable time under the dash.

I didn't take it to them, I just went for price on motor after tapping on it. I tapped on D & E on Monday, and it still did not work. But today I switch to defrost mode and it came on?

What is or may be going bad and may need to be replaced?

Thanks again!

ok im confused is you defrost the prob or you mode control(all modes) or can you not get the front defrost to blow.

the mode control controls where the air gos floor,vent,vent/floor,vent/defrost,and defrost.
