contrary to popular belief, spark plugs will not give HP gains unless in an FI application. i have heard that platinum plugs are actually bad for your engine because they burn too hot and will burn pits in your piston head.

Total hype. You can't spark to four locations at once, electricity will only jump to the closest target.

Not to mention that the other three arms not recieving the spark just block the flame front from reaching the rest of the cylinder easily.

Save your money and buy some NGK copper or platinums.

With the same temperature setting, copper and platinum plugs are the same temperature. But that doesn't affect the temperature in your engine, just the residual heat held by the spark plug. Hotter plugs stay cleaner, but you run the risk of detonation in high pressure or nitrous applications.

In fact, many Hondas came with platinum spark plugs stock, including my GSR. But, the move now is toward iridium plugs stock, extending the service interval to 100,000 miles.

So, if there are no gains in power from spark plugs or anything of that nature, then what is the difference in all the diff. spark plugs, why buy one brand over another except for how long they last?? I'm nowhere near an engine guru nor do I claim to be, but I know that I had the stock plugs that Honda uses and then I switched to the bosch +4 and then back to the stock honda ones and back to the bosch's and there is a difference.

I won't agree that there is a power difference, but the Bosch plugs are total crap.

There's a difference because your old plugs were probably dirty and used for however many miles before you changed them.

Try an NGK R plug, I guarantee you'll feel a difference between that and the Bosch, and it'll cost less too. $10 or less for a set.

There are a lot of aftermarket scams out there.

NGK platinums come stock in all DOHC VTEC Honda motors and some of the newer motors, so how can platinums ruin your engine.

I still do not like them since they are $$$, copper burns better, and the only reason platinum is used is so Honda can say no major scheduled maintenance till 105,000 miles.

Stick with NGK or Denso for your Honda, there is a reason why they are reccomended.

i got denso iridiums on my 98 accord 2dr, cuz my OEMs went bad, but i still remember what my car felt like in the beginning and after i broke it in, cuz i have low miles on my car, and let me say, i dont kno if they gave me HP difference, but it made my car A lot smoother, makes my shifts feel like water, maybe it can give u a better launch or something, cuz u have better reaction, it indirectly makes ur car faster to the smallest fraction of the degree, i just got it cuz i think they make my car run amazing, my friend got the NGK plantinums on his 98 accord 4dr, and my car is smoother than his even i feel, and we are up to date on all maintenance. whoever said their moving toward iridiums, he's right. my friend on his very modded 5th generation lude(97-01) said his botch's sucked, but just didnt want to pay more at the time for iridiums, but regrets it now. some1 told me plantiums are more expensive but i think he's wrong, the denso from what i saw were the most expensive.
