Those heatsheilds are always coming off after rust eats spots around mounting holes. To keep them on I put metal tights (bandages) on sheilds.

thanx dudes!! I'm glad you mentioned the ramps, because I surely was going 2 use just the jack.

the scissor jack? buy a set of $25 wal-mart plastic ramps for your own sake.

Yeah, the tire jack isn't really safe enough to crawl under. Blood makes such an awful mess on the bottom of the car when it rolls off the jack...

Scary, huh? When my daughter was in highschool one kid in her class had his truck come down on him as he was working.

Not actually bloody at all, it just held his chest down so he couldn't breathe, couldn't scream. Suffocation is not a quick painless way to go. His mom found him the next morning.

So this isn't just a silly idle warning.

^^ the wheel was off the axle, but still in the wheelwell. i almost lost my hand between the tire and fender.

How did that happen? Uneven ground? One time I was changing a flat on dirt and I was so pissed off that I jacked the car up before I loosened the lugs and kicked the car off the jack while trying to loosen the last one.

i dunno.... it just rolled off the jack. i was in an asphalt parking lot.

Yeah I never crawl under my car without at least having it on jack stands and after I've made sure that it's not sliding or anything.
