Default 1993 Accord stolen. Poor Sap.....

Hey, I thought I'd share this story, due to the amount of irony involved. I sold my '93 DX about 3 months ago after I bought a '99 EX. I sold it to some kid, 16 years old, probably his first car. Anyway, the kid calls me up a week ago. I told him to call me if he had any questions or problmes so I'm thinking he might have some mechanical problem or something of that sort since it has 190K on it. But he wasn't that lucky. He left the doors open one night and turns out someone stole the car. He was calling me to get an idea of what some of the items that were stripped from the car would cost. He had comprehensive auto insurance so they needed to know. They stripped the stereo (it sucked anyway) and the airhorn I'd put in it to scare the idiots who didn't know how to use the roundabout next to my house. That isn't too big a deal really. But they also stripped the front seats, the hood and the taillights. So now he can't even drive it, unless he gets a milkcrate to sit on I guess . I told him I have no idea what those items will run. The seat's I'd guess would be the priciest, especially if he wants to get the original burgandy color. The ironic part is that I always locked the car, even though it wasn't worth much, because the 4th gen accord is on the top ten most stolen cars in the U.S. I told him this, guess he didn't listen. Anyone had their car stolen, stripped, then recovered? I think this would suck on so many levels.

people love to steal parts off of 4th generations. they are made very well and parts r expensive even at that age. even if he left the doors unlocked they r easy to break into. saved him the trouble of repairing the glass n door. he can get prices from a junk yard. try www.hondaautoparts.com for some things. i doubt they have seats but they would have trim items..tail light assemblies r on there i just replaced mine on my 92..
