Default 1994 Accord radio question...

Is the antenna amplified? I can't seem to get good quality radio ever. I have an aftermarket shorty antenna (stock power one was all f'd up). I just want to be able to listen to FM stations every once in awhile. I currently have the stock tape deck in right now.

the reason the radio reception is bad is because those stubby are crap so either live with the wat it is or get a OEM one or a good aftermarket power or manual one just remember they don't fit as well and may need to make the hole bigger for it to fit.

Well it didn't change at all from the OEM one to the aftermarket one. Reception still sucks.

Make sure the antenna is plugged in snug in the back of the deck.

strange because I get pretty good reception with the stock antenna( Lx ) the Ex is in the glass and doesn't seem to work as good but then again Alpine radios have real sensitive tuners, but the stock tuner should have no problems pulling in stations if it's coming and going it might be a bad tuner. try borrowing another radio if it's still crappy it's the antenna or cable if not it's a bad radio.

Oh yeah, definatley in there.

The same thing happened with my alpine CDA-9853. Just barely any reception. Never locks on a station... just keeps searching.
