Changing it at 30K isn't bad. I have 15K on my 05 Accord and my ATF is alittle brown already. At 30K, I can see it as being dark-red and dirty and a change would be a good thing. But changing it there, I bet they didn't use Honda ATF which is a MUST..

Is there a DIY proceedure, what parts are needed, and how much fluid should be necessary....for the 04 V-6 tranny.

(Excludes this thread everyone here seems to give this guy good advice) Let me start off by saying how i hate hear comments with rude/not nice criticism with an extremely vague and short smart remarks like ''You screwed up, should of never went there!'' or another one "Go to the dealership. The End". Hey came here to obviously get help not to get criticized and save money so he doesn't have to go to the SEALERSHIP! THATS WHAT HONDA-ACURA.NET IS HERE FOR!! Help him like Dnguyen242 is doing pointing him in the right directions If you aren't going to help, just don't bother posting anything.

2nd Isnack (hope this helps a bit),Its never really to early to change any fluids. As far as Jiffy lube is concerned, Seriously change it yourself with Original Honda Transmission fluid(depending if its Automatic or Manuel) Buy 9 quarts of it for a complete transmission fluid change. From my experience it easier then changing oil, my Honda Manuel says to drain it then fill it. And drive for a short distance (Like 3 miles) then repeat 2 more times after the 1st drain and fill. Well this is what it says in my OEM Honda manual its for my 2001 prelude your may look different but it might look similar take a look.

This ones for the Automatic Transmission

and for Manuel (Stick Shift)
