Default 04 Accord V6 fluid change intervals

Hi guys,
my wife has an 04 Accord V6 auto with 17,000 miles. I looked at the owners manual for coolant change, transmission oil change. It showed something like 5 years and Honda long life antifreeze, and not sure what interval was for the tranny oil change.

Should I wait that long, and btw, the car sees 95% city driving.

Is the auto tranny oil change a DIY procedure?

Thanks, Jay

When you're working with the Honda ATF, make sure to "drain" and not flush.

I drain and fill 3QT's every 9 to 12 thousand miles.

Wow, isn't that overkill?

I'm no expert but I'd probably change ATF at 30k intervals. But long before that I'd be checking it for looks & smell, and based on that maybe I'd change it sooner.

Since you say it sees mostly city driving, that qualifies for the 'severe service' maintenance schedule in your book.
