I just got my coolant flushed and my temperature gauge is still hitting the redline. Could it be the therastat needs to be replaced.

 

No, I would doubt your thermostat is the problem. Much more likely is the possibility that there is air in the system. Use your bleeder screw again aamd I bet you are able to purge some more air out of the system. Give this a chance before you go replacing parts.
