2002 Accord Coupe Bumper
Hi. I need to know the measurements for a 2002 Accord Coupe rear bumper. I live in a city and parking sucks so I need to find a way to protect the bumper from idiots who can't park. Any recommendations on bumper protectors? I was thinking... http://www.clearbumper.com/purchase.html since I hate those ugly slug looking rubber things. PLEASE HELP!

Many times I see cars parking and THEY are the ones hitting a parked vehicle.
I feel your pain. I lived in the city(Chicago) last year, and people park using the Braille Method(all touch no sight). I have the same model as you, and there is another product called the bumper badger, but it will most likely get stolen.
If you do decide to go with the product, I would look into the custom fit if available.

Thanks Hondapower 80. This model is terrible for city living because the bumper is so wide and flat. The perfect target for license plate dings.
flyromeo - Would you happen to be one of those "idiots" who can't park and that's why you're taking offense? No, seriously...if you're saying that it's the person parking that usually is the person who makes the dings, then consider this...
I don't move my car more than once per week. Therefore, the combination of different people parking (and making dings because they are the ones who are parking) in front and behind me is infinite. So therefore, maybe I put a ding or two - but I don't recall ever bumping a car since I've lived in the city for the past year, however with all those combinations of people parking in front and behind me since I only move once a week it is more likely that they are making WAAAAY more dings in my bumper then me.

Nickie,
I was in the same boat as you. I would street park the car, and I would take "the El" to work, so I only drove it a few times a week. Things were all good until one night when some jerk in a Blazer scratched my rear bumper. He/She left a huge black mark from his/her bumper also, but I was able to remove it with bug and tar remover.
There is also the fact that my passenger side mirror was snapped off, but that is a whole different story but frustrating nevertheless.
Let me know what option you decide to go with in terms of trying to protect the bumper in the city. Another option I have heard is trailer hitch and leaving the ball mount after parking it and removing when driving so your car doesn't look as fugly.

a trailer hitch may not be such a bad idea...as long as it doesn't look terrible. What I really want is to get spikes that stick out of my bumper so that people realize their car will be the one that gets damaged if they bump my car...but i guess that's not possible.
