Moron issues: wrong oil filter...
So I grab a filter off the Fram XG3593 oil filter section of the shelf. I get home and put the filter on...only to realize that there had been an XG 3506 filter in that same spot.
From what I can tell, it's identical. Same dimensions and it even threaded on perfectly. There is no oil coming out of the seal after a few minutes running it. No obvious problems. I just wanna make sure I'm okay...

3593 thread 20x1.5mm
gasket od 2.475 id 2.173 th 0.233
3506 thread 13/16-16
gasket od 2.734 id 2.430 th 0.226
Those two filters aren't really interchangeable. The threads are close but not exact and the gaskets are way off. If it were me I would put the correct size on ASAP.

well i had no issues threading it at all. If that had happened I'da taken care of it. Drove it for several hours tonight...no problems.
The oil's far enough down in the sump that I can just change the filter without worrying about draining it all...right?

Update:
Replaced the 3506 filter. I looked it up on the guide, turns out they use these things on corvettes? Anyways, took the 3506 off, put the 3593 proper filter on and no problems. Apparently a 3506 will work in a crunch, cause it didn't mess anything up.
THANK GOD.
