Default Grinding while driving through right turns

Whenever I make a very sharp right turn, I hear a very loud grinding sound coming from my left front wheel well. After hours of research on the internet I was almost 100% sure it was a wheel bearing.

Well I thought I was driving on a bad wheel bearing for a good 1.5 months now. When I took it to get an oil change, I noticed a huge piece of plastic hanging down from the bottom, front-left side of my car. I was like wtf is that so after the car came off the lift I pushed the piece back into the chassis and all is fine now. I can make right turns without embarassment now.

The plastic thing looked like some kind of cover for the drivetrain, not sure. Anyway the 6th gen has 150k miles with no signs of wear.

lesson learned: look at your own car before researching the net. heh.

And it takes about 5 minutes to diagnose for sure whether it's a wheel bearing or not by removing the wheel and checking lateral disc play.
