Default noise when shifting...

does ur automatic tranny make noise when you shift it from reverse to drive or from drive to reverse? my car does! i can not hear it inside the car, but when i let my girl drive it and i stay outside, i can hear it noticably. normal? my car has only 16000km.

you should hear a "CHUNK". mine does it all the time. (00 coupe v6)

EDIT: mine only makes this noise when coming from park to reverse and vice versa.

man you ask ALOT of questions...GD..do some searching.


anyhow, your probably not giving it enough time to get into gear so when you go from R to D all you are is reving it and it pops into gear that thats what you hear...not good at all on an auto.

what you mean not good for auto? i didn't do anything except ****fing and it makes chunk noise. i want to know if this can be fixed by Honda since my car is pretty new according to the milage

Most automatics make some sort of engagement noise. It's probably noisy...the 4-speed automatics in the Accord are noisy when selecting gears. I wouldn't worry about it. Mention it at your next oil change, see if they can find anything.
