yea the red is positive and u can use anything to take off the connector. BUT b4 u do that remember to have ur security code handy once u reset it to use ur stereo if u have the factory one.

to reset the ecu, just disconnect the negative.
fyi, you always have to remove the negative before you try to remove the positive. if you try to remove the positive while the negative is still connected, it'll throw blue sparks 4' in the air and scare the $#!+ out of you.
