Default paint peeling off front lip

ok i painted the lip on my car to match the rest of it a few months ago. it held up perfectly until today i was heading to school... it poured on the interstate and when i got out, theres spots of paint that peeled off. any suggestions on how to prevent this? i'm not looking forward to repainting that thing lol

could be a factor of things.
paint sucks,
bad paint job
not enough layers

did you use clear coat? Also, what kind of paint did you use.
I also painted my own lips months ago and they show no signs wear and tear.

did you sand the surface before you painted it? romeo is right, you def need more than one layer... and also keep in mind that depending on what kind of car paint you use it takes appx. 48hrs-7days to fully cure...

i sanded the surface and put a few layers of duplicolor on... thats really the only paint i found that matched. however i didnt think you needed to use clearcoat... maybe thats where i screwed up.

this is where I buy my paint from.
http://www.automotivetouchup.com/

Exact match to your factory color. Just provide them the color code and you should get it in like two weeks.
Each order is made individually so its not like they have a stock of it.
very good guys to work with and helpful.

Clearcoat is what protects the basecoat. It will also give it that shiny look.

bad prepping most likely... paint don't just peel off unless if it has nothing to hang onto

I agree on bad prepping. Did they seal it before they painted it?
