Default 04 accord knock sensor subharness

I've got an 04 Accord EX V6, 26k miles. I just got back from the dealer after having them diagnose why the MIL was on. They claim that there is "rodent damage" to the knock sensor subassembly, its not covered under warranty, and its $350 to fix + $105 diagnosis fee. I paid the $105 diag fee and left.

Has anyone heard this excuse, sounds bogus to me? Is replacing this subassembly a DIY project, or should I find someone to do it? How much does the part cost?

Thanks for any help.

Brian

True story.
I once had rodent damage to my right front strut and upper control arm. Damn squirrel decided to store his nuts in the rubber boot of my strut. Somehow it caused the strut and control arm to go out. He also ate half of the boot, to boot! Damn fuck nut cost me $666 and some change. I think that squirrel was the devil. If I ever find it I'm gonna torture it.
