I always try to tell people to diagnose first. The ECU can't tell the difference between a bad CYP sensor vs. a broken wire in that circuit.

Check the connectors in that circuit for dirt & corrosion.

Hey, Scott!
Do not pay attantion to that 98..... Do you see how many posts he got? Just ignore him. At least you know how he got them.

Now back to your problem. What code do have now? I heard something about resetting ECU. Try to search for this.
If that does not work just visit another forum. www.automotiveforums.com for example. It is not visited by that many people but at the meantime you will not see that kind of <!> there. Rather more intelligent and knowledgeble people.

its code 9, and I disconnected the battery while installing the new distributor. is there something else you need to do to reset the ecu? because the light didnt come back on right away...it was a couple days later

I will post this question at automotiveforums for you, but I will be able to get back to this forum only next Monday.
I hope you will find what is wrong by that time.

if you replaced the sensor and the wires checked out fine theres only one more thing to replace...ECU but before replaceing that make sure your timing belt in properly lined up and tight !
