Default excessive tire wear...

I just bought a '94 Accord EX sedan on wednesday. I didn't notice at the time but after looking the car over some more, I saw that on the front tires the inner part of the tire is extremely worn whereas the rest of the tire has a fair amount of tread left. What is causing this and what should I do besides replacing the tires? Thanks.

I might be wrong, but I wood look into alignment... if it is off, you will see a big tire wear... if tires are still in the OK condition, try rotating them.

also, what tires are installed?
About a year ago I bought a new 05 Accord Ex Coupe (with stock Michelin tires) and i had to go through at least 4 tires already at 250 a pop...
so, if you have Michelin installed, i would wait until they are gone and go with something else...

werd...i didn't even notice the irregular wear until today. i knew they didn't have all that much life left in them anyway. Anybody have a suggestion for a good all-around, affordable tire to replace these with? It currently has "Barum" tires or something like that. :a:

I just got a pair of Falken as my front tires... I LOVE them! They just don't want to let the road go! doesn't matter what I do!
In a way, I'm an extreme driver and I tend to take turns at least 20mph faster than suggested speed and these tires never made me think twice about doing that!
Check them out... I got them from American Tire Company at $92/tire (http://www.tires.com)

other good brands that I trust are: Dunlop, Sumitomo, Yakohama, Pirelli
also check out http://www.tirerack.com they have them all

Good luck.

Thanks for the info. I have the stock wheels so I need a 15" tire. I think it's 195-60-15 currently. I don't really want to spend anymore than like $70 a tire and they don't need to be really performance oriented. I want something with a decently long treadlife, low road noise, and a fairly good looking tread pattern.

well... i wouldn't really recommend buying something cheap either
Tires are probably #1 element for safety and I wouldn't recommend saving a lot on them... my tires are stock 17" and i'm pretty sure that's why the price is up there (my stock once were like $250!!!)
anyhow... i'm sure that if you do a search on those websites and most likely you will find something good within your pricerange there... but I would stay within the brands I named... I had very good experience with all of them... btw... I forgot to mention GoodYear
