Default Exhaust Leak

Anyone else in the snow belt experience an exhaust leak on the top of the muffler from road salt? I have a 2002 w/ 40k on it, and the dealer said there is a small leak on the top of the exhaust, because I noticed the muffler has sounded louder. Is this a common problem? I want to know, because if it is, I would rather just get a stainless steel aftermarket exhaust like the WS II rather than pay for an OEM that is going to have the same problem in the long run.

only the muffler on most aftermarket exhausts is stainless... the rest of the system is just painted steel tubing. If you want a totally stainless exhaust, look into the Bosal/Brospeed... im not positive if they make it for the 6th gen though. The entire system is stainless steel and keeps a stock appearance with 2 smaller tips, as well as a quiet tone.

Try exhaust leak repair kit or Mix&Fix should work.
