Default hearing weird noise when I drive

all of sudden I start hearing this dragging noise and then it stops, then starts again. Could it be brakes? It starts and stops regardless if I press or brakes though. I know my brakes are bad cause car shakes when I step on them but could this be that too or is it something else? axles?

I'm having problems imagining what a dragging sound would sound like. But I agree with the post above...brakes are very important. I'd even go on to say that it's more important than having a functioning engine.

It could be either your brake pads, or your rotors. Or maybe it could be a wheel bearing, axle, cv boot....we'd need more details

if the car shakes too i would look at the rotors for damage if the pads are gone

take off the rims and check out the pads

probably the brakes. I had that problem last year. sounded like the rear was going to fall out. Had severe loss of braking power too. I did manage to drive home, on the xway doing about 25mph. Took about 4 hours. Turned out everything in rear brakes needed replacement, pad, drums, etc.
