Default to fix or not to fix?

my 99 accord v6 trany has a problem. its shifting a bit hard from 1st to 2nd gear. what can be the cause of this? what is the best way to fix it? is AT repair fluid (forgot the name) the way to go? or should i replace the exsisting oil. it has 60k miles

You have 60k, you're still under the extended warranty I believe. Search around for the service bulliten.

what is there to fix? wait until it dies then replace it. if you're not replacing the fluid every 25-30k miles you're an idiot, no offense. I hope you are, the tranny is incredibly finicky.

there's nothing to fix besides replacing the entire tranny. draining/filling the tranny fluid a few times may help.

Never put anything in the tranny but Honda ATF

the extended warranty is for 2000 up as my 99 wasn't in the warranty

the 98-02 automatic transmissions have a history of premature failure. the only fix is a replacement - very expensive.

Correction, the 98-02 V6 autotagic has a history of premature failure.

warranty is for 98-01 models.up to 100k miles.
my friend just had this tranny replaced at like 50 something k miles.
He has an 01 sedan.
Free of charge. All they charged him was for a plug to seal up his flat tire.
woaahhh 14 bucks.

:werd: I second that. My pathetic little 4 banger auto tranny has been just fine and I'm just over 150K. V6 autos, another story.
