Default Quick Water related Question...

Hey guys. I'm new to the forums and Drive a Black 2006 Pilot. Love the car and can always trust a Honda. I just had a quick question for anyone who can help.

My buddy just bought a 97 accord. Looks like it's in really nice condition but recently we received more rain then anyone really wants. He went to get into his car today and realized that the back floor mat was pretty wet (dripping upon removal). We both walked over the car today and used a hose to see if all the door seals were working. No water entered the car through the seals so I was wondering if it could have entered any other way?? I jacked the car up and looked for some sort of misc. hole that might have contributed but didn't see anything noticeable. Is the floor very absorbent or anything along those lines?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

did he leave any of his windows/roof cracked open and forgot to close? other then can't really think of anything unless somewhere along the line, the rubber seals around one of the doors is not sealing right when you close your door and all the rain that fell, some got through.......directly spray the hose at the door around the seals and see if any gets in

Yeah.. The windows to the best of his knowledge were closed tight. It's been really hot and hes an AC nut so I can probably believe him on this. THere is no sunroof so I dont' think that would of been it. AND we did try and do the hose directly at the seals and nothing got wet. I'm sort of out of ideas. Anyone else have anything to mention?

is it wet under the rear floor mat? check the trunk it could be the tail lights leaking water or the trim around the rear window is letting in water. tail lights can let in alot of water.

correct me if wrong but how would the water get to the floor mats from the rear tail lights?

Also, if it was leaking through the rear window wouldnt the seats and rear deck possibly be wet?
