Default shifter wont go into gear

Need some help from anybody out there. I just recently changed my brakes on my 98 honda accord v6 sedan automatic and now the shifter wont move into gear. After I did the brake job, went out and tested the car and everything worked fine. The next day I went out, made a couple stops then shifter wouldn't move. Any info about this would be good

Pull off the bezel around the shift lever, there's a little place to stick a key. Try that to release your shift lever. If that works, then it's your interlock between the brakes & the shift lever.

Check whether your brake lights work. The same switch on the brake pedal operates the brake lights & the interlock with the shift lever. A bad switch (or bent bracket?) will cause both problems.
