Default accord speaker installation

I bought JL 6x9 speakers (rear deck) for my 99 accord coupe. I had another thread where some people told me the speakers wouldnt fit because the trunk spring(?) would get in the way of the speaker. they told me to buy spacers for my speakers and so i just bought 2- 1 1/2 in. 6x9 speaker spacers. do i need anything else for the installation? i remember when i changed my head unit i needed a wiring harness... do i need the same thing for my speaker? if so can u post a link to what i need so i can buy it...thanks alot, again

btw: speakers are currently stock

Circuit City, Best Buy ... these stores should have these for sale in the installation center.

they're $7 a set.

You can cut your stock harness, but for $7 ... don't supersize for a week and you'll be fine.

just cut the stock harness and use some good connectors with a little shrink tubing, and itll sound fine.

I had no idea... all I did was chop off the stock harness, and hooked up the wires to speaker terminals, and made sure they were in phase (speaker bumps outward with the bass hiits instead of inward), and then just hooked them up when they were right...

Apologies for reviving an older thread, but which model (TR or VR) did you use, and how did the installation go?
