Default help problems with 94 accord accelerating

I have a 94 accord and it will not tach above 4-5000rpm whether you are driving or in neutral, if you are in neutral and hold it wide open it will not go over 5000rpm and then it starts spitting and bogging down, does anyone no possably what this could be, its like it has a rev limiter set at 5k, but I know that it does not, It is a auto ex model accord

no, the check engine light is not on and it does not pull any codes, sometimes though when I go to the store and turn the car off and when I come back and crank it, it will not crank and the the d4 light starts blinking, and I just keep trying to restart and then finally it starts and the d4 light goes out, sometimes it will crank up after 2-3 tries, but sometimes it will take 20min of trying to start it, and then the trans slips bad sometimes and sometimes you can not make it slip

Um yeah so is the tranny slipping when it hits 5k RPM or it physically won't go past it? I don't get it.

No the trans does not slip when its at 5k, it has this problem in neutral when the trans is not in use, It physically will not tach past that, I just thopht I would tell about my other problems also to see if someone new about them also, my trans is just wierd, I might go get in it now I drive allday long and no slipping or any other problems with trans, but I might go get in it and it might start slipping or it will just not crank and the d4 light will start flashing, but I really just want to fix the engine part not taching past 5000rpm, and also when it reaches 4000rpm it takes it a long time to reach 5000rpm, but it runs to 4000rpm great, but after that it feels like i am pulling a 5000lb camper up a mountain

Okay...please don't rev your engine in neutral anymore.

Try cleaning the EGR valve and doing a compression check (do this first). Ever do any routine maintenance on the car? You seem to have some internal problems.

This has been covered a few times before. Your ECU will not allow you to rev past 5000 RPMs. I know I was an idiot once and tried it too. Here is a quote from a thread titled "rev limiter question"

Hey Jerry's kid, he has an automatic, he said so in the last line of his first post.

yes I do all my routine maintance on my car, I put a 95 engine and transmission in it myself, and ever sice then I have had theses problems, Its been like this for about 3 years now, the car has never really gave me any problems but besides be annoyed by these so I have just kept driving it and it has been fine, I even drove it to texes like this and it was fine (i live in va), I just was trying to go ahead and fix it so I can sell it, but I know its nothing enternal, compression is fine, there is just a bad sensor or something or electrical wrong
