Default loud clunking noise **HELP**

when i started up my car this morning, there was this loud clunking noise.... kinda like the sound u make when putting in a stone into a can and shaking the can... well, i tried looking for loose pieces of stuff tht could have caused it, but nothing... the noise when down as the motor got warmer tho... and the sound was gone when i stepped on the gas.. it came from the front of the car... i doubt it's the suspension.. my guess is the motor, but wat exactly is it? btw, oil level is good

Not to sound condescending here but did you look for the cause when it was actually making the noise or did you wait until the engine was warm and the noise stopped? I would think it would be easy to find the source if you looked while the car was actually making the noise.

if its louder then the valves needing to be adjusted maybe its a lifter or a rod going.

are you sure its inside the motor? A usual problem similar to yours has been covered before. Which is that, the hooks on your exhaust are worn and so its the exhaust pipe that is vibrating when your car is in idle. Then when you step on the gas it rids the vibration. That does sound like a rock in a can too. So just look at your exhaust pipes up and down to see if thats it.

what generation accord is your car? if its 5th then it could be the buzz from the b pipe in the exhaust. the dealer has a 'buzz kit' for it. exhausts can rattle loud as death at times. maybe u lost a rubber hanger or something similar.
