Default overheating

I'm putting a new radiator in my friends 94 honda accord. Her radiator has a small leak on the tank and core seam. I told her all she had to do to get through the week was add some water every couple days until the weekend when I replace it. Her mechanically Declined moron boyfriend decided there is no need for this. A couple bottles of liquid radiator fix should do it. Big mistake. He put this crap in sunday and her car has been overheating ever since. It starts to get hot after 20 minutes. She told me the radiator is topped off with fluid and the fans are working and still leaks I might add. I want to figure this out before i put the new radiator in. I thought maybe a stuck thermostat but the car still gets heat like normal. The only other idea i have is the radiator fix clogged some of the core and is causing the problem. I never used radiator fix so I don't know what it could do if not used correctly. thanks
