Default What does"Catalyst system Efficiency Below Threshold" mean?

This came up when I ran the codes on my wife's Honda. It doesn't run any different.

It means to use the search button and then fix the problem

Or it could be a transient problem. I pulled the same code off my buddy's Accord, and reset the CEL, told him it would likely come back on. While he was researching cat prices it just never came back on.

Hey now, I think a lot of us here used to drive Chevy's. It doesn't mean we don't know how to use a search button. The good Lord has since forgiven me for owning both a camaro and a TA in the eighty's.h:

^^^^LOL, you couldn't put me in a GM for my life. The 80's was a whole other story, I think a lot of things can be forgiven from those times.

its prob ur cat or ur o2 sensor is being lazy.

The same code poped up for me twice but i cleared it twice and it hasnt come back for almost 40k.

I know my cat is bad kuz when u shake it it rattles. but no cel so i still pass emissions

Sounds more like a loose heat shield. If your cat is bad you'd get awful nitrous oxide smell inside the car when accelerating up hills. I know because mine went bad at 150k and I didnt change it until 210k h:

You mean you'll get an awful sulfer smell inside your car, if you're getting a nitrous oxide smell then that means one of your nitrous bottles sprung a leak and you'll probably start laughing your head off.:loco:
