Default 99 accord, no start, just cranks

I've searched the internet and this forum and couldn't find an accurate answer so here goes.

At times, my 99 Accord will crank but not start, such as this morning. I have observed that when this usually occurs, the green key for immobilizer on the cluster does not appear when putting it into the ON position. I usually wait a few mins, see the green key and I know it will start and sure enough it does. I didn't have my spare key at the time to try and rule it out if it was a key problem or not as this happens maybe once in 4-5 months.

Anybody experience this before?

Thanks in advance

same thing happened to me once... i had 2 honda keys on the same ring, and a few times it would refuse to start.... i just took the key off the ring and it started :dunno:

might be a bad immobolizer unit or might be a bad key.

if its happening infrequently... then i guess its nothing serious.

if it cranks, it might be a fuel related problem... are u getting any fuel? check the fuel pump fuse...... if not, it might be a bad main relay

if the green key light doesn't come on the computer isin't getting power because the immobilizer is in the PCM if it was the reciever part of the ignition switch or a problem with the keys it would just blink instead of going out after 2 sec

Default update- immobilzer was at fault

Finally got around to taking the car to the dealer. They replaced the immobilizer and seems to fix the problem as this was 3 months ago.
