99 V6 Transmission Help
My girl has a 99 Accord V6 with 45K on it, and lately the trasmission feels really sluggish and has the similar effect to a clutch slipping.
Just curious if this is common around this mileage and if so, what is the problem. I bought the extended warranty for her but would like a heads up before bringing it in.

well knowing honda and their crappy trannies, i say it sounds like the tranny is going. So wait a bit longer and see how it is...then take it to the dealer and cross your finggers that they will replace it without making you pay for it. Cause Honda does not like doing things like that. But rule of thumb is ...if one dealer turns you donw go to the next and if that fails call honda of America.
If your girl does have any kind of work done to it ....engine wise... might want to change those parts before bringing to the dealer. And push for a new tranny and make sure you tell them its breaking down.

Did you have the same symptoms I'm having.. sluggish & complete irratic shifting? I called to make an appointment but haven't told them what for... just looking for a heads up at the local stealership.
It does feel similar to when the O2 sensor went in my 325i but this feels a little more severe.
Thanks.

99 Accord 4 speed transmission shot
I kinw Honda issued extended warranty to 2000-2001 Accord users, but seems to me many 99 owners have posted the same complaint.
Am in the middle of settling for a replacement to by 99 with 55,000 miles. Today they want me to pay for labor.
Does anyone know of a survey or on this issue for 99's.
Honda USA says a take it or leave it on offer by Monday. Don't think they can do this, especially when no one in authority was at dealership this afternoon, and not available until Monday.
Any help much appreciated.

99 v6 transmission
No way...This babies are very sensitive.
Honda has agreed to pay for the part in total for replacing the transmission with a factory remanufactured unit. That left me with a labor charge of $580 which dealer I bought from agreed to 1/2 discount.
As you know Honda issued extended warranty on the 2000-2001 Accord V6 Automatic. Just trying to see if the 99 has the same problem but less press attention.
Thanks
