Default 96 accord lx,lost power...

i ave 96 accord lx w/ auto trans.one day i drove it and notice te car wont go any faster than 40mrh. te dealer said it 's te auto trans went bad, im still not going for tat, cuz i just cant believe how tis just happen with out me knowing since i drove te car all day. may be anyone ave some idea what could be wrong with te car...or if a conversion of auto trans to > manual is a better idea for ceaper tranny. whic manual tranny do yo think will fit best with my stock motor 96 lx? does it take alot of mods to do tis swap? or maybe it's just better to put auto trans again, which auto trans wil be best for this? im still hoping tat its not te tranny...what you tink could be wrong? car starts good,i ave reverse ,the car takes off slow, but still take off though. it wont go any faster tan 40.i can sift in gears but wont make difference in speed.do youthink fuel filter needs to be changed? or this is really tetrans problem? help me pls.....thanks!

is your "h" key broken?

anyways, if your transmission is failing, you'd still be able go get past 40. You'd redline in 3rd gear and not catch 4th ... but you'd get over 40.

Default oops sorry...

sorry about my miss type letters....i did'nt realized that my keyboard was bad since its wireless....
yeah, my 96 accord lx is not picking up speed,it does takes off,but it's not like how it used to be.honda said that this is about my auto trans failling...it's still runs ,but im not going any faster unless its down hill..i had to take local road to get home with my car since its my only ride. what else shold i check before i go on dropping my bad automatic trans.??? at first i was thinking that maybe bad fuel filter, i tried looking for it, till i found it hard to get to it, could this be the cause? or i should really start looking arround for a used tranny? any other tranny will fit my car athat will give better power?is it alot more work to convert fr om auto to manual 5 spd? can anyone give me atleast steps on how to install either the swap or just putting automatic back on..please help me...thanks....sorry again...
