Default info on engine swap

i have a 1996 v6 ex accord. i have been wanting to swap engines for a while now and have decided to drop either a j30a4(03-06 accord--240hp) or the j35(05tl--300hp) in and mate it with the 6speed tranny out of the 03-06accord. now i have looked at the engine layouts for the swap and it seems possible but seeing how i have never done a swap before i was wanting to get some advise. i want to use either of these engines because i would be starting with atleast 240hp and then i would be able to mod from there. i realize that this will cost about 3-4000 but thats not a prob. a/w any input would be great......

If any J series engine fits, you're going to be doing a considerable amount of custom work. You're looking at spending more like $5000 for parts alone, if you can do the tremendous amount of labor. If you wanna spend that much on a 1996 Honda Accord, go for it.

the new tl is still a 3.2 therefore it is still a j32 and it only has 258hp

the amount of money you will be spending will be over 5000 easily especially if u cant do the work urself.

i would save the money and get a used cl type s or tl type s
the cl in 03 has a 6speed if manual is wanted

and then u still have the reliablilty and no worries about wiring

Default 96 accord swap help...info

these are the three engines im looking at for the swap & far as i can tell the enigne should just drop in with very min cust modifications to the bay. the engine blocks are all basically the same and i havent noticed any huge problems with it fitting. i just dont want to go purchase all the comp and then find a huge problem when it comes to it fitting. also should i buy direct from honda for the engine or look for a used one...aside from the price being the biggest issue...a/w here they are

J series engines are larger the stock c27(?) you have in your accord. It wont easily swap in without some major custom fab work.

Well not for sure, the C27 was a 90 degree. The J series are more compact but they might have a higher deck height. Either way you're looking at tooooooons of custom mounting.
