I have a 5th gen and I change the motor oil myself approximately every 3000 miles (give or take). I've done it twice now and just realized that the little Maintenance indicator that goes from Green to Yellow to Red is now at Yellow...What i'm wondering is if this is because I haven't reset it myself and the car is just logging the miles between oil changes or is it detecting something else wrong? Also, how do I reset it back to green?

 

It just logs miles, it doesnt mean that something is wrong with the car, I think. There should be a little slot next to it to put your key, I have a 4G and it has a key hole next to it, put your key in and that'll reset it.

 

all it soes is count about every 7500 miles between resets.

it's just a reminder for any of these things...your manual should probably have more info on what the light could be reminding you of.....
