What broke, if it's simply stretched does the latch (under hood area) have an ajustment to take that back out.

Default 6th gen Hood cable

Everything is in place, the latch stays in an open position, Honda dealer told me I had to change the cable. They can do it for 115$, cable is 10$!!! I'm looking for a DIY. I think I have to take off the driver side fender, but I want to make sure before I do so.

you dont have 2 remove the fender just the inner fender lining(the plastic) you will see how the cable is run.

Its pretty simple

edit:

To be more exact you have to remove the drivers door sill plastic and then the kick panel where the handle is, then jack up the drivers front end to access the liner plugs(be careful of these clips because they are fragile and break often and also around $2 a peice) remove the liner(remove wheel to make it easier to work around). then you can see where everything is routed and the rest should be self explanitory

Hope it helps
