Default Car shakes when I brake

Hello all-- I own a 98 honda accord coupe. When I brake at hig speeds, 55 and above, often the car will really shake and will pull to the right. I would like to get this fixed but i want to be able to tell the mechanic what it might be any thoughts?

Thanks.

check your wheels/rims, check your brakes and use the search button.

Well when you press on the brake and it shakes its most likely ur rotors.

If the car also shakes while you're at higher speeds without pressing the brakes u need and alignment.

Your car pulling to the right means u need and alignment.

my guess is that you need both and alignment and new rotors or get ur rotors cut if they're not that bad.

I just had that problem on my 4th gen. I changed the rotors and caliburs and now its fixed. U probably only need to get your rotors resurfaced

I got brakes and new front rotors for about 300 installed. Allignment can depend on shop to shop. I had the same problem with my car shaking when i basically got close to 80 mph. ROTORS and ALLIGNMENT is what is going to fix it.

if its when you brake, definatly check the rotors, wouldn't hurt to check the pads either...but if its while your just cruising too, then its your allignment...new rotors arnt cheap, so see if you can get them re surfaced (did that and saved about 100 bucks) and they're running fine today so...but its all up to you.

Can you change your own brakes?
If so the rotor is roughly $60, you can get it at kragen/autozone/...
And to get it resurfaced its rough $20
