Default damn, brake master cylinder or air in the lines?

when the brakes heat up in stop and go traffic, the pedal goes to floor - seems like the classic symptom of a bad master cylinder. however, i only started noticing this after the fluid was flushed last weekend (at the same time my rotors were replaced).

can a poorly done brake fluid flush cause the pedal to go all the way down?

it's a 95 accord LX 4 cyl...thanks

How much did the flush cost you?

Have a friend pump the brakes and check for fluid leaks around the engine bay brake components and the calipers themselves. Also check for bubbles in the fluid and obviously that it's topped off.

the flush was included with the cost of changing the rotors. i plan on doing a bleed tomorrow and will check for leaks. hopefully that's the problem

Hm. I think I'm gonna go to the dealer next week to get mine flushed b/c I don't want to do it myself and I think it only costs like $40.

Default Air in brake lines

You have air in your brake lines, or maybe one of the bleeder valves was left open. I had the same problem in my Accord, and I took it back to the shop that changed my brake fluid. At a stop light, my brake pedal would slowly sink to the floor (like a quick sand effect). The second time, they re-bled the lines, and the pedal is firm again.

Yep, it's likely air in the lines since it just started after the flush.

It's easy to bleed them if you have a friend to man the brake pedal...I make my wife do it.
