95 Accord EX-R V-6 4Dr

Recently I have been having a clunking/knocking noise coming from the driver side front end. This noise tends to happen when I am accelerating from a stop sign or when I am braking for a stop then release the break. Also it happens randomly as I drive.

I opened up the front door and jumped up and down on the door edge and the noise did not happen. However, when I pushed my weight forward on the car when it was in park I got the noise to happen. So I am thinking something must be lose and when weight shits in a forward on back ward motion it causes this noise, not in an up and down motion. Any ideas?

 

its most likely a motor mount

put the car in drive and hold the brake and try 2 rev ur engine. if u hear a clunk then it is a bad motor mount.

CV-Joint? Turn your wheel all the way to the left or right and see if its torn.

 

I have already replaced CV's and no noise when I turn wheels...

Motor Mount...huh...have to do your test and see...

 

Tried your test for the motor mount and could not get it to make the noise..

I'm thinking its some sort of suspension thing...

Las time I brasught it in shop said everything was solid, noise is getting worse, maybe they can figure it out this time...

Check your strut tower mounts, one could be busted and the strut could be banging. Or you could have a bad strut. Does it happen over potholes/bumps?

 

Not so much over pot holes or bumps...

More when weight is shifted forward or back

when the cv joints were replaced did u retighten all the suspension components when the suspension was load w/ the wieght of the vehicle?

if not the bushings might be making the noise because they were not preloaded properly when tightening

Are your lug nuts tighten correctly? If it's not tighen securely to the hub, the forward force would cause the wheel to shift, thus making a clunk noice.

 

That'd be more of a humming noise, similiar to wheel bearings. Don't ask me how I know h:
