Default 93 Accord Using Oil

I changed my oil in the fall of last year and put in a synthetic that was suppose to last to 10,000 miles I believe or 1 year, but I checked it the other day and to my suprise I was halfway between the empty mark and the low mark. The engine is clean except from around the top, i think its leakign alittle around the top, but definitly not that much. Is it uncommon for a 93 Accord EX with 125k to use that much oil? Is that a bad thing?

I couldn't even tell you because I change my oil every 3000-4000 miles. Even if they said it could last that long I don't let it.

Engines usually consume a bit of oil. Have you always been using synthetic oil? If not, how many miles were on your car when you switched?

Did you notice there have been 2-3 threads similiar to yours created in the last week that have extensive answers in them? And yes it's normal for cars to burn oil as they age.

Synthetic is a good way to stop oil leaking past seals as long as you don't go back to dino after you use it.

I dunno what the service spec is. I know Porsche 944 Turbos are spec'd at 1 quart for every 600 miles...which is crazy. I used to burn a quart every 1-1.5k miles before I switched to synthetic. With Mobil1 I'm at 1 quart every 8-10k miles.
