Default K & N filter for 2003 help any?

not that my v6 needs any help, but i was curious if anybody has replaced the stock air filter w/ k & n or some other performance filter. Did it help? Any increase in mpg? I searched and could not find anything on the subject, any help would be great!

it may help, but dont expect a drastic increase in performance. you'll notice more with a cold air/short ram intake.

and relax... the boards are slow on the weekends.

Relax, did you need to know within the hour?

You're not going to notice a MPG difference any more significant than if you drove smoother compared to a clean OEM filter. As far as performance...maybe a couple horsepower, but nothing noticeable.

K&N is a good way to go just because you are allowing some more flow in; but like everyone is saying, you are NOT going to see a huge improvement in gas mileage or HP increase, though there will be some. K&N is good stuff.

I put one on my I4 and it seemed to give a tiny kick but nothing that would remind me day after day it was there. It would be worth it if you want to retain the stock look and sound of your car.

I just put an AEM cold air intake and filter on my 05 V6. I can definitely see a difference.

Since I've had both, there's no question to me that an intake definitely changes things more than a drop-in filter.

Agreed, it's probably better just to go with an SRI or CAI. Not only for performance, but also the sound.
